Causing Legacy for A Brighter Future

There I was facilitating a zoom call with family members I had just met less than 6 months prior. I was determined to discover who my family was, where we came from and to discover the legacy that my elders have left to my generation. In partnership with my cousins across the world, we were able to have 5 (of 7) elders including the matriarch who was 93 on a zoom call. Shortly, after we began, my Great Aunt Clemie said: “Wow. I haven’t seen my younger brother (90) since I was ten years old.”

It was after this amazing call that I began to consider the other elders in my life and look at the opportunity to honor them while also contributing to generations coming after me.

Founder / President

AnneLisa Vallery is a teens/youth advocate, keynote speaker, bestselling author, an intuitive energy healer, a holistic wellness coach and the founder and President of Causing Legacy. Through her service as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for children and teens in the Los Angeles County foster care system, her relationships with her elders and her own healing journey, AnneLisa was inspired to serve BIPOC teens and youth on a larger scale and be a bridge for intergenerational connections. Through Causing Legacy, she facilitates workshops that honors the elders’ wisdom and contributes to teens and youth by providing them tools and resources to heal, guidance to navigate the inner journey and support to discover who they are in the world. AnneLisa has been featured in the Turning Season Podcast where she shares how Causing Legacy is part of the “Turning Season”.
